From the review I posted on Jamendo

“Many people don’t enjoy authentic “ethnic” music. I’m not one of them. I enjoy contemporary music but I also have a healthy appreciation for true musical expression from diverse cultures.

This album presents a form of authentic “Asian” music with modern instrumentation and treatments. For my purposes, i.e. accompanying my spoken word podcast with music that evokes Asia, it’s quite appropriate. My thanks to the composer.”

Track listing in sequential order:

  1. I’m planning a trip to Thailand and Taiwan next month. I figured since I’m here in Japan might as well see other countries in Asia. People keep telling me it will be hotter than hell there in August though. Still it’s the only time I get off :(. Did you visit Thailand? If so how did you like it?

    • I spent the month of November in Bangkok. The night-time temperature would drop to the upper 70’s at about 3 a.m. Daily temperatures averaged 85%.

Weather aside, I believe I would LOVE to actually live in Thailand. It’s quite an exciting and dynamic city. The food was excellent, the people were intriguing and the easy access to Asian travel hubs cannot be overlooked. I’ve also heard encouraging things about Taiwan.

What do you do in Japan?
